The research project “The global impact of coastal water contamination on economic development” (GLOBCOADEV) funded by the European Research Council (ERC) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in Economics.
The candidate should have a strong research interest and background in development economics and/or environmental economics. Coding expertise, and interest/expertise in geospatial analysis and machine learning is considered a plus.
The project will be located in the Carcavelos Campus of the Nova School of Business and Economics. The position requires presence in campus and cannot be remote.
The position is offered for two years, and it can be extended yearly, up to four years. The candidate is expected to start in September 2023. The position is full-time research, does not involve teaching, and the salary conditions are competitive (41-43k gross per year). Successful applicants will join a team producing cutting-edge research on a variety of fields related to pollution in low and middle-income countries, and are expected to contribute to the research group working in Development Economics at NOVA SBE. The project is led by Dr. Alex Armand.
