JDD Job Market Training 2024
The French association of development economists (AFEDEV) notably contributes to the employment promotion of young researchers in academic institutions, either universities or research institutes, at the national and international levels. Competition for permanent positions, tenured positions, and post-doctoral positions is increasing, and successful job search requires specific skills.
To help PhD candidates prepare for their future job market campaigns, AFEDEV is organizing a new edition of its job market training. Cerdi will welcome the event, which will take place on October 15 and 16, 2023, in Clermont-Ferrand.
The job market training will consist of 40-minute presentations plus 10 minutes for questions. At the end of each session, PhD candidates will attend 10-minute bilateral meetings with senior participants to discuss their presentations more in-depth. A session with tips for recruitment at CNRS, IRD, and other academic positions will also be organized.
Candidates who plan to apply to academic positions during the year 2024-2025, internationally or in France, are invited to submit their CV and job market paper by clicking on the button below by September 10th at the latest. Applicants must be members of the AFEDEV (membership here). No participation fees are required. The AFEDEV scientific committee will inform applicants about the admission decision no later than September 20th.
