ICDE 2025
Vth ICDE conference and launch of the European Development Economics Group (EDEG)
The University of Paris Nanterre and EconomiX (UMR 7235) are pleased to host the 5th International Conference on Development Economics (ICDE) of the French Association for Development Economics (AFEDEV), which will take place from 2 to 4 July 2025.
The aim of ICDE is to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field of development economics and to provide a dynamic platform for discussing the latest research and challenges facing developing countries.
We welcome both empirical and theoretical contributions. Themes of interest include, but are not limited to: agriculture, climate change, energy policies, environmental issues, conflict, digitalisation and digital transition, economic history, employment, firm performance, economic growth, health, education, international trade, migration, monetary policy, demographic dynamics, gender, norms and culture, intra-household decisions, poverty, social protection, inequality, corruption, risk, insurance, taxation, vulnerability, governance and institutions.
The conference will mark the launch of the European Development Economics Group (EDEG). The EDEG is a collaborative initiative bringing together development economics groups from different European countries. Each year, the EDEG will organise a conference, hosted in a different European country, with a local team responsible for organising the event. This year, AFEDEV is coordinating the launch event.

Funding :
We actively encourage the participation of researchers currently living and working in low-income countries. A budget is available to help fund presenters’ costs of attending ICDE (travel, accommodation and registration). Applicants wishing to benefit from financial support should indicate this in a comment at the time of submission.

Papers (in English or French) can be submitted for the regular and poster sessions. All presentations will be given in English. Only one submission per author is allowed.
