ICDE 2023 (english)

ICDE 2023

The International Conference on Development Economics (ICDE) will take place from July 3 to 4, 2023 at the Paris School of Economics in Paris.

This edition follows the 2022 edition organized by CERDI in Clermont-Ferrand. We actively encourage the participation of young researchers and researchers based in the South.

Plenary sessions will be led by Juliano Assunção (PUC-Rio) and Shilpa Aggarwal (Indian School of Business). A special session in memory of Martin Ravallion will be chaired by François Bourguignon (PSE).

Practical information

The conference will take place at PSE, which is located at 48 Boulevard Jourdan, 75014 Paris. The campus is easily accessible by public transport. RER line B stops at the Cité Universitaire and serves Charles De Gaulle airport, Orly airport and Gare du Nord station. Metro line 4 stops at Porte d’Orléans.

Participants must arrange their own accommodation. There are plenty of options in Paris to suit all budgets. PSE is located at the administrative boundary of the city of Paris, and participants can also consider accommodation in the nearby suburbs, such as Montrouge, Gentilly or Arcueil.

We can provide you with an official letter of invitation to the conference to include in your visa application. Please send an e-mail to: icde.2023@gmail.com

We will be organizing a conference dinner on the evening of Monday July 3. The dinner will probably take place in central Paris, near the “Les Halles” metro/RER station. The conference dinner is covered by the conference registration fee. We will be gathering information on dietary restrictions in the weeks leading up to the conference.

All practical information is available on the conference website.

AFEDEV

ICDE is also the second annual conference of the French Association for Development Economics (AFEDEV). AFEDEV is an association that federates the scientific and professional development economics community in France. It promotes research, training and all types of work involving scientific expertise in this field.

THE PARIS SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS (PSE)

Founded in 2006 by CNRS, EHESS, École des Ponts ParisTech, ENS-PSL, INRAE and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the Paris School of Economics (PSE) brings together a community of nearly 150 researchers and 155 doctoral students.

PSE is a Fondation de Coopération Scientifique (scientific cooperation foundation) which develops research and training in economics at the highest international level. It also fosters exchanges between economic analysis and the other social sciences, contributes to economic policy debate and integrates academic research into society, through its Partnership Program and its “Eco pour tous” initiative.
